The Virginia/North Carolina-based instrumental sludge band Loincloth have announced plans for releasing their departing recording. “Psalm Of The Morbid Whore“, the band’s second and final full-length release, will see digital and vinyl release through Southern Lord on September 29th.
Guitarist Tannon Penland and drummer Steve Shelton (Confessor) return, this time enlisting the help of Tomas Phillips on bass andguitarist Craig Hilton who has played live tours with Loincloth previously.
Loincloth returned to Pershing Hill Sound in Raleigh, North Carolina to record the new effort with Greg Elkins, while mastering was helmed by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Corrosion Of Conformity, Sunn O))), Obituary) at Audiosiege.
States the band, “LOINCLOTH is no longer a live band, so this record is our final offering not only to the great horned one below, but to the committed ladies and gentlemen of the Cloth.”
